April 2023 Mayor Letter

Mayor Letter Image

Dear Community,

I hope everyone is now safe after the weather events we have had these last two weekends. I am so grateful to our wonderful City workforce for keeping us all safe. We strive to provide top-notch city services, while working hand-in-hand with our utility companies. We are blessed with an experienced, well-trained staff.

We know that some of our residents have been hit hard by these recent storms. We have done everything possible to assist where necessary. The City of Stow Service Department is providing a one-time curbside collection for residents for storm-related brush. Sign up and get the details here:

In other news, THANK YOU to all of our local realtors that came out to attend the City-sponsored Quarterly Realtor meeting. This is a twice-yearly event in collaboration with the City, our school district, the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce, and the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. The exchange of information is so beneficial to all entities! It is a distinct goal of mine is to increase collaboration between all entities and the city in an effort to work together for the good of our community.

I am excited to look at future projects that are on the horizon for our community. We have worked through prioritizing where and what our comprehensive capital improvements program will entail, and we have spent a great deal of time and energy researching to make the right choices for our community. Improvements already scheduled to commence in 2023 are:

·       $5,000,000 Road & Sidewalk Improvement Program in 2023

·       Renovations to our Silver Springs Campground

·       Replacement playground at Meadowbrook Lake Park

·       Addition of a “Nature Play” area at Adell Durbin Park

·       Pickleball Courts at Oregon Trail Park

·       Loop Trail at Oregon Trail Park

·       Driving range improvements at Fox Den Golf Course; teaching tees and other enhancements. (Hanson Property)

Great things are happening in our City! We have so much to be proud of and so much to look forward to. Afterall, we are tradition centered, and future focused. As always, I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic

Mayor, City of Stow
