Dear Stow Residents,

With New Year’s Eve behind us, now is that time when we reflect on the previous year and celebrate the arrival of the new year. It’s also a time to share hopeful Happy New Year wishes with everyone in your life, including friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. After all, these are the people you made incredible memories with in 2022 and will continue to make memories with in 2023.

I hope everyone is safe and warm after the weather event over Christmas. What a way to bring closure to the year!  I am so grateful to our wonderful City workforce for keeping us all safe by maintaining our roadways. We strive to ensure safe streets through efficient and timely snow and ice control during the winter season. We use the latest advancements in snow fighting equipment, technology and materials, and are blessed with an experienced, well-trained staff. We are prepared to handle any type of winter storm event.

As we officially closed out 2022, I am amazed by the work our City has accomplished in so many areas! As a community, we have much to be proud of. Our residents, our businesses, our organizations, our government, and our schools. Now that 2022 has come and gone, we can focus on the year ahead. We have set the stage for a bright future!  I just know 2023 is going to be a year to remember for our community.  For 2023, a distinct goal of our plan is to increase collaboration between all entities and the city in an effort to work together for the good of our community.  We will also strive to:

  • Improve communication with residents
  • Support our business community
  • Provide a high level of service to our residents
  • Maintain financial stability

I am excited to look at future projects that are on the horizon for our community. As we work through prioritizing where and what our comprehensive capital improvements program will ultimately entail, we will spend a great deal of time and energy researching to make the right choices for our community. Improvements already scheduled for 2023 are:

  • Improved Roads
  • Upgrades to sidewalks & bike trails
  • Improvements to parks & playgrounds
  • Water & storm sewer system upgrades
  • Skip Playground!

As your mayor, I can’t help but smile at all the memories we made together in 2022. Thank you for making this year one of the best so far. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year!

Sincerely,

John Pribonic
Mayor, City of Stow
