Dear Stow Residents,

We have had an exciting and plentiful Fall to date! Hayrides, flannels, fireworks, bonfires, harvest festivals, trick or treat, trunk or treat and so much more! It is hard to believe we are now planning for the upcoming holidays. As we move toward Winter, we look forward to many exciting endeavors for our community including fun events, programs, community services, and other important initiatives. We look forward to winding down 2022 in a tradition-centered and future-focused way.

Our Residential Leaf Pick Up Program is in full swing! This is always one of our most popular city services. As temperatures fall, so do the leaves! For a full list of scheduled pick-up dates, districts, and guidelines, visit the following: Leaf Pick Up Program.

In this newsletter, you will find the dates for many other exciting events: Glow with Stow Holiday Lighting Event, including a NEW ornament decorating program called Take-it, Make-it, Bring-it, our Veteran’s Day Initiative, and other community giving projects. For all events, visit our website events page, and follow our Fun in Stow Facebook page.

I am excited to share that we continue to invest in our community, making steady progress on improvements and initiatives. We continue to move forward with the feasibility study for a community/recreation center, having just completed community engagement through focus groups. Shortly, the community survey, market analysis, and engagement portions of the study will be finalized, and the operational plan will be the final component, scheduled for completion early next year.

Also, be sure to check out our new website which was launched last month. Our website has seen increased traffic these last few years. We understand the community relies on our website for information that affects their daily lives. Features of the new site include a refreshed look, easier navigation, improved functionality, and great accessibility. Read more about this here.

We have also launched new emergency and routine notification systems. Sign up for both of these services to receive information from the City of Stow. You will have the ability to customize your notification preferences by topic, and by how you receive them – email, text, and/or Landline. Read more about this here.

I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input, and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.
