I hope you are all enjoying the winter season. It is hard to believe that February is already here! Although we have had a mild winter, there have been recent snow and ice storms. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for our service department workers. They have gone above and beyond to serve our community, and we truly appreciate your patience as they perform their work. As we navigate through the ice and snow, it is important that we all drive with caution.
I am thrilled to announce that the City has successfully acquired Cornerstone Church - the NEW Stow Community Center! The property will undergo extensive renovations and improvements before we can relocate our senior programs to the new facility. Stay updated on our progress through our project updates, as we prepare for the future! Furthermore, keep an eye out for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new playground at Meadowbrook Lake Park, as well as the ceremony for the NEW driving range at Fox Den Golf Course this Spring.
Recently, there have been some staffing changes in my administration as well as in the Law and Finance Departments. Please stay updated with our City notifications as we will be posting the profiles of both new and existing City staff. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them, and I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with them as we continue progressing Stow. As we continue through winter, you may have noticed that the days are gradually getting longer. However, I want to express my concern for the well-being of our residents. I encourage you to take advantage of the extra daylight, bundle up, and spend some time outside if possible. If you need assistance during these darker months or anytime, please reach out. Additionally, I kindly ask that you check on your neighbors and offer assistance if needed. #YOUMATTER. https://stowohio.org/323/Mental-Health-Resources
Remember to check out the plethora of events and programs we have planned throughout the year! Over the next few months, find exciting activities that will get you out of the house and socializing with your friends and neighbors. Our City is experiencing great progress and we have much to be proud of. We are rooted in tradition while remaining focused on the future. As always, I pledge to be accessible to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input, and feedback are invaluable in understanding the concerns of our community. My commitment lies with the best interests of Stow, and I hope you share that sentiment.
Thank you for your attention and continued support.
Mayor, City of Stow
