Dear Community,
I can hardly believe it, but 2024 is right around the corner! Reflecting on 2023, I am filled with pride for all that we have accomplished for our community. And yet, there is still more work to be done.
I invite you to join us in celebrating our shared achievements at the magnificent Glow with Stow Holiday Lighting event on December 2nd at 5:30pm. This is more than just your average festive gathering; this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of the season. Picture it: Santa Claus spreading cheer, dazzling lights illuminating the darkness, enchanting train rides, tasty food trucks, and even majestic reindeer filling the air with wonder. The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library will also be a part of the celebration with gifts of books for children. This event promises to be a true spectacle that will leave you in awe.
But that's not all! Our Residential Leaf Collection program is currently in full swing, and it is always met with resounding applause from our community . Be sure to check out our comprehensive list of scheduled pick-up dates, districts, and guidelines on our webpage. We are dedicated to providing you with the utmost service and convenience.
Join us as we pay tribute to our brave veterans on Veterans' Day (November 11) with a heartfelt wreath-laying ceremony at 12:30pm. This poignant event, hosted hand-in-hand with the Joshua Stow Chapter NSDAR, will take place at the Doughboy statue in front of our City Hall. Discover more about this occasion and our local DAR's involvement in the National Wreaths Across America Day in this newsletter.
But before that day arrives, let us not forget to pay our respects to our veterans. Embrace the opportunity to pick up a FREE yard sign that will proudly grace the front yard of a deserving veteran's home in our community. This simple act of recognition is a powerful gesture that acknowledges and honors their selfless service.
I am elated to share that we continue to pour our heart and soul into our community, in our quest for progress. We have invested in maintaining and enhancing our valuable parks. Just recently, we completed a substantial Sidewalk Improvement Project, showcasing our commitment to pedestrian safety and accessibility. Furthermore, our annual Road Improvement Project has set a new standard for the quality of our infrastructure. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share more about these transformative projects in the near future.
As we embark on this joyous season, let us never lose sight of those who are less fortunate. We are blessed with countless opportunities to give back, and time and time again, our incredible community has proven their boundless capacity for compassion and empathy. I thank each and every one of you for continuing to care and for demonstrating the very essence of what it means to be a community. Together, we can make a HUGE difference!
Sincerely,
John Pribonic
Mayor, City of Stow
