The Stow Parks & Recreation Department organizes a variety of year round recreation & education programs for active senior adults 55+.   Come join us for Fun, Fitness & Friendship!

Stow Seniors Stow Parks & Recreation Programs – Programs are open to all area senior adult 55+ – No Membership required – Register for any Stow Parks & Recreation Senior Program prior to attendance through the Stow Parks & Recreation Department.                                                                               

Stow Senior Citizen Commission – A mayor-appointed advisory commission that meets monthly to discuss senior citizen issues and concerns. Meetings: Third Tuesday of January / May / August / November 7:00pm at Stow Senior Center 3968 Darrow Road Stow, OH 44224. Email the commission at:

Stow Sunshiners – Are a membership organization of active senior adults 55 & older led by an elected Board of members. The group holds a monthly catered luncheon with entertainment on the First Monday of each month at noon (unless Holiday – 2nd Monday) at Stow Glen Retirement Village – Cedar Hall.  Membership is open to any current resident of Stow or a contiguous city to Stow and 55+ years or older.   Individuals are asked to attend two luncheons before applying for membership. A $5 donation covers your membership January  – December     Sunshiner Membership & Monthly Luncheon Tickets are available by contacting (330) 688-8673.

Volunteer Groups

Care & Share – A volunteer craft group who assists local organizations through the creation & distribution of a variety of handicraft projects. Past projects include assembling small dolls for Children’s Hospital and Alzheimer’s patients to assist in describing pain, Nail Kits for Hospice and a variety of other projects that lend comfort & support. You do not need to be artistic or have special skills to lend a hand.

MEETINGS: Last Monday of each month 1:30pm (January-April, August -September) at the Stow Senior Center.

Stow Blanketeers – Knitting & Crocheting Group who create and donate blankets to local charities.
MEETINGS: Second & Fourth Wednesday each month 1:00pm Oregon Trail Lodge
